I admit it. I have often railed against almost everyone of the 5 points in 5-point Calvinism, also known for its acronym TULIP. I don't think it does do justice to what Scripture reveals about the relationship between God's Sovereignty and man's choice.
As I was thinking about what SHOULD be emphasized instead, I discovered another kind of TULIP that summarizes my convictions quite well:
T - Total dependence
U - Unconditional grace
L - Limitless atonement
I - Invincible love
P - Perseverance of God's promises
So I'll say to all my reformed, ultra-reformed and uber-reformed brothers and sisters out there: if it's important for you that we are all TULIP Christians, I'm with you all the way!
