Fascinating and brain-frying

I've always been intrigued by the process of scientific discovery through new theories and experiments. If there's one thing we really can take away from this, it is the realization how little we still know about our world and that "reality" as we encounter it keeps humbling us in that regard.

Do parallel universes exist? I don't know. What would the implications be if they are real? I'm not sure. But let's not postulate what cannot be, simply because it would rattle our preconceived ideas and the kind of comfort that comes with having a model that "works" in our present mind!

An entirely different question is: how important is it really to solve the physical and mathematical riddles of reality? If God is the ultimate reality behind everything and the essence of God is love, is it possible to contain that in a simple mathematical formula? I'd tend to say "No" but maybe there's something in the relationship between mathematics - and all sciences for that matter! - and their relationship to such values as love and freedom that we simply don't understand yet.
