What exactly is a fundamentalist? I realize that definitions are fluid and different people will apply the term in different ways - some emphasizing more the militant tendencies, others will focus more on doctrinal rigor and exclusivity.
I came across a quote from Rick Warren today that captures IMO the heart of the matter:
"You become a fundamentalist when you stop listening!"
